During the summer of 2018, a group of Cornell students went to El Rodeito to survey the community about important topics like health, nutrition, food insecurity and water quality. The students were able to conduct household surveys with over sixty houses. This data sets a precedent for future research in the area. Currently, Mayor Potencial is working with a team from Boston University's School of Public Health, in collaboration with medical staff from Cape Cares to analyze the data. Their hope is to write a research paper in order to spread awareness of, and to garner further support for the needs of the community.
